Day of Remembrance event at Queens Place cancelled

An event to mark the Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women scheduled for Liverpool on Wednesday has been cancelled.

The Second Story Women’s Centre in Lunenburg had planned the event at Queens Place Emera Centre to commemorate the murder of 14 young women at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal on Dec. 6, 1989.

Organizers did not give a reason for the cancellation.

Still, they said they hope people will continue to work toward ending gender-based violence in their communities.
