The station was officially launched at noon on June 19, 2008 under a temporary special CRTC licence to gauge listener interest. The overwhelming and enthusiastic response from the public resulted in approval for a full licence on September 15, 2009. The CJQC Radio Society, a not-for-profit organization, has been operating QCCR Radio since June 2012 from its headquarters atop the post office building in downtown Liverpool.
Everyone at QCCR is committed to making it the best community radio station in Nova Scotia. We encourage the public to provide new ideas and input on how to best make this happen. If you'd like to send us your suggestions, please feel free to get in touch with us.
And if you support the idea of local community radio, please consider volunteering and/or donating to the station. We always need volunteers to help with a variety of things here at the station; and as for donations, any amount is welcome, as every little bit helps keep QCCR live and on the air.
