Use a straw to get the “butter” all the way down in your popcorn.
This is for movie theaters where instead of asking for extra butter, there’s a self-serve dispenser. Just stick a straw down into the bag and aim the buttery drizzle.

Children sometimes have the somewhat annoying tendency to use their colouring pencils on the walls instead of their paper. The result? A wall that’s covered in pencil marks. You can easily remove these by scrubbing them away with a brush and some toothpaste. The leftover paste can be removed with a wet cloth.
The dirt on or near the back of a hairdryer can cause a fire. That’s why it’s important to clean the filter on the back of your hairdryer every once in a while. This is done by cleaning the ventilation opening on the back of your hairdryer with a moist cotton swab to get to the hard-to-reach areas.
To some people ironing is very relaxing while others hate the chore. It doesn’t matter what you think of it, though; it’s a task that can’t be put off forever. But you can speed up the process! Place a sheet of aluminum foil underneath the cover of your ironing board. The foil will reflect the heat coming off of your iron, which speeds up the ironing
We usually eat kiwis by cutting them in half and eating the fruit with a spoon. But what if you want to eat a fruit salad? Simply get yourself a glass and a knife. Half the kiwi lengthwise with the knife. Then push the kiwi out its skin using the rim of the glass. Same goes for a mango. Cut the sides off the mango and use the rim of the glass to get the mango out of its skin. It’s a lot easier than cutting the mango with a knife!
Another snack that helps against sleeplessness is almonds. Almonds contain magnesium which improves your quality of sleep. When you have a magnesium deficiency, it is difficult to fall asleep at night. Topping up your magnesium levels by eating almonds can be a step in the right direction. So snack on a few almonds before you go to bed.
Olive oil functions as a personal care product for your hands and feet. Do you have dry cuticles? With a cotton pad and some olive oil they will be a thing of the past. The same goes for dry heels. Rub some olive oil on your feet and you’ll see that the dryness disappears.
Did you get a grease stain in your clothes due to greasy food, oil or makeup? Then you should add a can (or a large glass) of transparent pop like Sprite or 7up to your laundry. Wash your clothes like you normally would (that includes laundry detergent) and you will notice the grease stains will have disappeared when the clothes come out again.
Are you walking through your house and have you spotted yet another black scuff mark on your wood floor? Don’t grab the mop right away but just walk over to your desk to get an eraser. That’s all you need! An eraser is the perfect solution to removing those ugly black streaks. No need to scrub away at the floor. All you need to do is erase the black marks with the eraser. It’ll be gone before you know it. Sweep or vacuum up the little ‘crumbs’ that are left on the floor and that’s it!
You only need three things for this handy tip: a little bit of baking soda, some white wine vinegar and an old toothbrush. Mix together three tablespoons of baking soda with a splash of white wine vinegar in a small bowl. Using a teaspoon, mix the two ingredients together until a thick, smooth paste has formed. Apply some of the paste to the toothbrush and then properly rub this into the stain in your car upholstery. Leave the mixture to sit and soak for a little bit. Then, take out your vacuum cleaner and you’ll be able to suck up both the dried mixture as well as the stain. The upholstery will look as good as new!
Are you experiencing heartburn out of the blue and do you not have the proper medication at hand to relieve the pain? Take a look in your kitchen cupboards to see if you’ve got one of the following products:
These three food products can relieve your heartburn. The pickles can dilute the acid, the dry oatmeal can reduce the pain of the acid reflux and a small sip of apple vinegar will reduce the pH value of the stomach. You’ll notice that eating one of these three food products will reduce your discomfort within a few minutes!
Is your toilet looking less than fresh due to a gross yellow ring in the bowl? If a classic cleaning product doesn’t do the trick, you should give using a pumice stone a try. By wetting the stone and using this to rub the stains, you can remove the yellow ring from the bowl of your toilet. Do make sure your stone is properly wet or you might scratch the surface of your toilet bowl.
We usually use conditioner for our hair but it can also be very handy on your car! Pick a conditioner that contains lanolin; this substance will apply a protective layer on the paint of your car just like car wax would. That way your car will remain shiny for longer.
All you need for this tip is a simple tennis ball which you’ll be using as a kind of massage ball between your neck and shoulder and the wall. If the ball feels a little too hard to use as a massage ball, you can try putting it in a washcloth to make it a little softer. The trick will only cost you a couple of minutes but it really helps to take away the tension in your muscles. You can also use this tip to give your feet a nice massage: just place the tennis ball between your foot and the floor and start rolling!
You only need a few ingredients for this cleaning tip and there’s a good chance you already have all three of these things in a cupboard at home. You’ll need:
Wash the curtain in the washing machine with half the amount of detergent you normally use. Add 100 grams of baking soda to the washing machine as well as a splash of white vinegar. You could also add a couple of towels to the load of laundry to get rid of the tougher stains. The towels will function as a kind of scrub (there’s no need to add fabric softener). Wash the load on a normal cycle with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
Put the turmeric and the milk in a small bowl and mix it until it turns into a thick paste. Is the paste too thick? Add a little bit of extra milk. Apply the paste to your armpits and let it sit there for half an hour. In the meantime, fill a tub with warm water and, after the 30 minutes are up, remove the paste with the warm water and a towel. By repeating this process more often, the hair follicles will become loose which means the hair will fall out and at some point won’t come back. At least, that’s the idea. Worth a try, right?
Do you think peeling eggs is a lot work? Not with this tip! Fill an empty jar or glass halfway with water. Put your egg or eggs in and close off the glass with a lid or your hand. Shake it well for a few seconds and then take the egg out. You’ll see that the shell slides off the egg easily. This tip also works with a lot of eggs at the same time. Really handy!
All you need for this simple tip is: your sneakers, old socks or another type of fabric, an iron and hot water. First, fill up the noses of your sneakers with bunched up old socks, newspaper or another type of material. Fill them up until the creases are no longer visible. When you press the top of your shoe and there’s no movement there, you’ve filled up the shoes enough. Next, get out another pair of old socks or another type of fabric and moisten it with hot water (don’t drench them, though). Place the slightly wet sock over the nose of your sneaker (on the outside). This is where your iron comes in. Carefully iron over the top of the sock. Lift your iron regularly so you are sure you don’t burn the shoe. Keep doing this until the creases have disappeared from the shoes completely.
Eating mustard can also help quite well when you’re experiencing cramps, for example. But besides having quite a few benefits when you eat it, there are also a lot of benefits when it comes to external use. Do you have painful or tired muscles? Give this tip a try! Run a nice bath but instead of adding your usual bath bomb or bubbles, add two tablespoons of mustard and a little bit of Epsom salt to the water. In traditional Indian medicine, the tradition to apply mustard to the skin to relieve aching muscles dates back to a thousand years ago. That’s because mustard contains a small amount of sulfur which can help reduce skin infection. It also helps against inflammation and it triggers the skin in such a way that your blood flow is improved. So, it’s definitely worth a try!
It works wonders when you’re feeling nauseated and also helps against feeling bloated and stomach and intestinal problems. Plus it lowers your blood pressure and boosts your immune system which is great when everyone around you is getting the flu. Ginger also helps when you’ve got sore or aching muscles, no matter what is causing it.
Drinking a lot of water can contribute to having fresh breath. But you can switch it up with another drink for even better results. Try drinking tea instead! A cup of ginger and lemon tea can work wonders for your breath.
Dress shoes often have very smooth bottoms which can make it easy to slip and slide if you walk around on them. Sand them with a bit of sandpaper to create a bit more grip. This way, you’re less likely to slip and fall down.
Mosquitoes hate the smell of cloves. You can fill a bowl with water and add some cloves to this. Place this on a table or on your nightstand and the nasty buggers will stay away and bug you a lot less.
What do you need for this tip? It’s very simple: you need 12 empty eggshells and four generous tablespoons of coffee grounds. So, eat up! Or, you know, simply store the eggshells in a container until you have enough of them. Once you’ve gathered the ingredients, you have to put them in a blender and add a generous splash of water. Blend these ingredients together until it’s turned into a smooth mixture. Add extra water if needed. When the mixture is done, you can pour it over the soil where your plants grow in your garden. You’ll notice they will suddenly thrive and grow like never before! And the snails will stay away too. How does this work? Coffee grounds contain nitrate and snails hate this substance so they won’t come near it. The eggshells, in turn, supply calcium directly to the soil. This will cause your plants to become healthier and stronger!
