Eventide festival to liven up Liverpool at night
A new art festival will liven up downtown Liverpool this May.
Eventide art festival is the brainchild of two local artisans, Stacey Smart-Chandler and Brittany Wentzell, and is slated for May 11.
As Smart-Chandler explains, while there are many festivals that have art as a component, they wanted to create an event that is solely focused on the arts.
“We have so many creative individuals in the community, as well as businesses and public spaces devoted to arts and culture,” said Smart-Chandler. “But we have no event devoted specifically to the arts.”
Similar to events like Nocturn in Halifax, Eventide will be a night time event. Wentzell said they wanted to pick a time of day that isn’t normally active in Liverpool, and the festival is slated to go from 7 pm to midnight.
Eventide will be centred around Town Hall arts and cultural centre, and spill out onto main street in Liverpool. The festival is still in its planning stages, so specific events have yet to be announced, but the pair hope to start announcing more details soon.
