Power outages sweep through province

High winds and rain knocked out power across the province last night, including several parts of Queens County.
The largest concentration of power outages in Queens were reported in LaBelle, with over 200 customers without power. Power was also knocked out in Kejimkujik National Park, parts of Caledonia, Liverpool, Western Head and Brooklyn.

Nova Scotia Power estimated most power would be restored by late afternoon

Winds gusting as strong as 90 km/h were seen across the province, brought on by a low pressure system that swept west to east. With it came mind temperatures and 20-40mm of rain in some areas.

The entire South Shore is seeing higher than normal water levels and pounding surf in the aftermath of the storm.
