Tour the Astor Theatre from home
Wandering through the Astor Theatre and town hall can now be done in the comfort of your own home, thanks to a 3d virtual tour now on the theatre’s website.
Andrew Bursey, general manager of the Astor Theatre, says it was created as way for people to tour the theatre, for acts to get a sense of the theatre environment and as a way to the preserve history.
Cost wise, Bursey says it was a very affordable and worthwhile option for the theatre and something other businesses and historic properties should consider. The tour was created by Looksie, a company that specializes in creating virtual tours for real estate, with local photographer Chris Green taking the pictures.
The tour is linked to google maps, which will be flagged when patrons using the service look at Liverpool. In the virtual tour, he says visitors can look around in all directions at many different points in the theatre. The points go from the lobby and theatre, all the way to stage view and back stage. In all over 200 points can be traveled to.
And if you look closely you may find an Easter Egg or two along the way.
The Virtual tour can be found on the Astor Theatre’s webpage.
