Cooke Aquaculture looking to double capacity.

Cooke Aquaculture is looking to expand their salmon farming operation in the Liverpool Bay.
Andrew Lively, VP of global marketing with Cooke Aquaculture, gave details on the plan as well as background to Region of Queens Council on Oct. 23.
The company has initial approval to investigate the site’s suitability by the province, however that does not mean they have approval to start the expansion. Cooke Aquaculture must first gather data about the site and consult with the community.
Once all information is gathered the company will then present this to the provincial review board for a decision.
The open house will take place on Oct. 30 at Queens Place Emera Centre, from 4-7 pm.
