A test to see if your eggs are still good!

Yes, eggs are the kind of thing that we tend to forget in the fridge. It’s not that we don’t know that they can go bad, it’s just we subconsciously think they’ll last longer than anything else.
If you find yourself in a situation where you don’t know if you should or can eat an egg, just do the salt-water test! Just add cooking salt(2 tbsp should be enough) to a cup of water (or any other container, as long as it is large enough to hold the egg) and drop the egg inside. If it sinks, it’s good. If it floats, don’t eat it!

Turn inky hands into clean hands in seconds!

Households with small children are no strangers to hands covered in ink — but this issue is easily solved. Just use some margarine and wipe it off with a damp cloth

Use baby powder for a day at the beach!

One annoying thing about beaches is that sand gets absolutely everywhere. To prevent this — pack a travel-size baby powder bottle and rub the baby powder on your skin. Sand will fall right off the skin that was “powered up.”

Use a rubber band to remove a screw!

If a screw is “worn down” and you need to take it out — put a rubber band between it and the screwdriver to get a better grip.

Use hair dryer to remove stickers!

This handy tool we use almost every day can help us with this problem. We’ve all struggled to take a sticker off of something that was brand new. The hair dryer provides a gentle heat to melt the production glue which is the main problem. So you can heat up the sticker, remove it gently and then take off the residue with a wet napkin or a wipe.

Prepare “one-second” lemonade!

Nothing is better on a hot summer day or for a quick cocktail than lemonade cubes. What are those you ask? They are magic and this is how you make them:

Take fresh lemon juice

Sugar to your taste

Make the mixture strong, since it’s going to be diluted with water

Cut the lemon wedges in small pieces

Freeze the mixture with wedges in an ice cube tray.

Now every time you want a refreshing drink — grab a couple of cubes from the freezer, dunk them in water and have a delicious homemade lemonade.

Make a rewards card chain!

Do you get confused with all the gift cards, rewards cards and what not cards at the counter? This is easily solved. Take a hole punch and punch through all the cards that you use regularly (make sure you don’t ruin the magnetic strip or chip in the process) and put them all on one key ring. Add a ribbon and now you have a very manageable card collection you can take anywhere.

Soap the zipper to work better!

If you’ve been struggling with a pesky little zipper that just doesn’t want to work and keeps sending you running into somebody who can fix it — struggle no more. Use some simple soap to “butter it up” (butter would work too but it stains and comes off easily). You can also try a bit of a hair gel for the same purpose.

How to cut homemade bread easily?

Do not cut from the top because it’s really crumbly, do it from the bottom instead. This part is softer and easier to cut into without getting crumbs all over the place

Not getting all of the lime juice?

It’s much easier to cut the top of the lime (or lemon, or orange). This way you can get all of the juice out of the fruit.

Put away ladders, hammers and other tools!

Many people leave their tools and ladders outside because they think they are safe. But this is a bad habit because it puts their home security in danger. Hammers, chainsaws, screwdrivers and axes give people different ideas and they are not always “friendly.” That’s why after working in the garden or fixing something, you should make sure you put everything out of sight and lock it.

Display a “Beware of Dog” sign always!

Put a “Beware of Dog” sign on your fence or in your front window even if you don’t have a dog. This simple warning will make strangers think twice before entering your property and scare burglars as well.

Put package boxes away immediately!

Leaving used package boxes from your new TV or laptop can also signal to criminals which valuable items you have in your house. The best way to stay secure is to break down the boxes and throw them away immediately.

Always keep your yard neat especially if you go on a trip!

An unkempt yard with overgrown shrubs and thick grass might be a sign to thieves that the owner hasn’t been home for some time. That’s why it’s important to keep the landscape as neat as possible all the time. If you go on a trip, you can hire someone to cut your grass and make your yard look nice.

Secure your purse while grocery shopping!

When using a shopping cart, as you browse through the store, keep your purse zipped or closed and secure it to the cart by clipping the child safety belt through the strap(s). This will help in preventing someone from taking advantage of your distraction and running off with the purse. This is more simple than it seems: you can even improvise and use a cheap carabiner or a large keychain clip to secure your bag, if the cart doesn’t have a belt.

Make fabric softeners with sponges!

In a container add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup fabric softener, mix and add your sponges.  Let them sit awhile to soak up the mixture. To use them, squeeze out the excess fabric softener back into the container, toss the sponge with your wet clothes in your dryer and turn on.  When your load is dry, pull your dry sponge out and place back in the fabric softener mixture – yep they’re reusable.

Decorate A Recycled Jar!

Pour hairspray into a recycled jar. Twist the jar so that the hairspray coats the entire inside of the jar. Dump out the hairspray when your done coating. Pour glitter into the jar and twist the jar making sure the glitter sticks to the hairspray inside. Dump out the extra glitter and let it dry completely.

Refresh and clean artificial flowers!

This one’s pretty easy and surprising. No one likes dust in their artificial flowers but dust is almost impossible to get rid of (at least permanently).
One easy way to keep your artificial flowers dust-free is to put some table salt into a bag (paper, preferably) add your artificial flora and give it a shake. The salt will remove any traces of dirt and dust and they’ll look wonderful again.

Socks for cleaning shutters and vertical blinds!

Cleaning shutters and vertical blinds can be very difficult especially as a cleaning cloth can accidentally cling to something. An old sock can be a great tool to do this task if you put it on your hand.

Walnuts to fix scratches on furniture!

To hide small scratches on wooden furniture, you should polish it with walnuts or Brazil nuts as they contain natural oils. After that, polish the surface with a soft dry cloth. This will make the scratches and other marks less noticeable.

Alcohol to make appliances shine!

A great way to polish the stainless steel surfaces of devices and appliances such as microwaves, kettles, and toasters is alcohol (you can use vodka). You only need a few drops and a soft tissue to clean such things.

Bring back the natural color of old clothes!

You tried everything you could think of to make those old clothes look new, or at the very least not so washed out, but nothing quite worked out. Try salt!
Just soak your clothes in a solution of salt water and/or add a ¼ cup of salt into the wash cycle. You’ll surely be surprised at the results you’ll get.
