North Queens Skatepark a go

North Queens teen Zeke Westhaver is leading the way on a skate park project for Caledonia.

Westhaver attended the Region of Queens Council meeting on Oct. 9, to ask for a $750 grant to help get the project underway. The funding will go towards signage and insurance for the park. Council approved the motion unanimously.

For now the skate park will be set up in the tennis courts at Harmony Ballfield for a one year pilot project.

If successful, Westhaver hopes to expand the skatepark and move it closer to the centre of Caledonia.

The town of Bridgewater has donated surplus equipment to be used for the skate park, and it will be ready to go after some minor repair work.
