{"id":941,"date":"2018-09-01T13:00:27","date_gmt":"2018-09-01T16:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qccrfm.com\/news\/?p=941"},"modified":"2018-08-31T13:15:35","modified_gmt":"2018-08-31T16:15:35","slug":"turkey-sloppy-joes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qccrfm.com\/news\/2018\/09\/01\/turkey-sloppy-joes\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkey Sloppy Joes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 Tbsp. oil<\/li>\n<li>1 lb. ground turkey (or chicken)<\/li>\n<li>1 red pepper, diced<\/li>\n<li>1 onion, diced<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. chili powder<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp. smoked paprika<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>1 cup crushed tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup ketchup<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup chili sauce (can substitute additional ketchup)<\/li>\n<li>2 Tbsp. molasses<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp. mustard (I use Dijon)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup water<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp. cider vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n<li>Freshly ground black pepper, to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Over medium heat, warm 1 Tbsp. of the oil in a large pot. Add the turkey and break it up with a wooden spoon. Saute until cooked, stirring often. Remove to a plate.<\/li>\n<li>In the same pot, add diced onion, pepper, garlic, spices and salt. Saute until soft but not browned (about 5 minutes).<\/li>\n<li>Add tomatoes, ketchup, chili sauce, molasses, mustard, water and cooked turkey. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring often, 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in vinegar and Worcestershire sauce and season with pepper.
