Photo Ed Halverson<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>By Rick Conrad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Global Empire call centre wants a break on its lease in the Liverpool Business Development Centre on White Point Road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mayor Darlene Norman says it\u2019s because the company is using 18,000 of the 25,000 square feet it originally signed up for.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cSo they wanted the lease amended to indicate that they\u2019ll only be renting the space they are using. And that frees that space up for the Region of Queens to do with as it wishes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Council approved the amendments in principle.
