Following a weekend that saw eight more deaths from COVID-19, all at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax, the province is announcing another person has died at the same facility.<\/p>\n
That brings the total number of coronavirus deaths in Nova Scotia to 38, 31 of which have occurred at Northwood.<\/p>\n
Overall, the numbers of daily new COVID-19 cases are on the decline with another 14 being announced today.<\/p>\n
To date, the province has 985 confirmed cases of the virus.<\/p>\n
Six people are currently in hospital, two of those are in ICU.<\/p>\n
Six hundred thirty-eight people have recovered and their cases of COVID-19 are considered resolved.<\/p>\n
As of May 3, there were 10 licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors’ facilities in Nova Scotia with cases of COVID-19, involving 239 residents and 111 staff.<\/p>\n
The number of negative test results in the province now exceeds 30,000 after the QEII Health Sciences Centre’s microbiology lab completed 455 Nova Scotia tests on May 3.<\/p>\n
