That’s kind of, what we want it to be about this year.”

Croft says they’ve already begun marking off the 50 to 60 spaces for their opening on July 4.

And to involve the community even further, the public will be able vote on which film will be shown opening night by voting on the South Shore Drive-In Facebook page.

The Mill Village location is temporary as Croft says her group has come to an agreement with the Hank Snow society to build a permanent installation that could accommodate up to 200 cars in the Hank Snow museum parking lot.

She hopes to raise the $9,500 needed to erect a screen frame through ticket sales and sponsorships in order to move to their permanent home this summer.

Tickets for the drive-in cost $10 per car and are only available at the gate beginning around 9:00pm.

The South Shore Drive-In will open July fourth and will show films every weekend throughout the summer.

For more information you can follow this link to the South Shore Drive Facebook page.

Reported by Ed Halverson
E-mail: edhalversonnews@gmail.com
Twitter: @edwardhalverson

A Mill Village group is looking to the past to keep people entertained during COVID-19.
