{"id":1210,"date":"2018-10-11T06:00:18","date_gmt":"2018-10-11T09:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.qccrfm.com\/news\/?p=1210"},"modified":"2018-10-10T14:49:26","modified_gmt":"2018-10-10T17:49:26","slug":"astor-theatre-looking-to-upgrade-hvac-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.qccrfm.com\/news\/2018\/10\/11\/astor-theatre-looking-to-upgrade-hvac-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Astor Theatre looking to upgrade HVAC system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Astor Theatre Society is looking to upgrade their Heating and cooling system, and has reached out to the Region of Queens to help fund a study.<\/p>\n<p>The main issue stems from trouble keeping the building cool in summer and warm in winter.<\/p>\n<p>The Astor Theatre Society needs to have the current system assessed and recommendation of what would be the best system to install, at a cost of around $20,000.<\/p>\n<p>A grant is in the works that would cover three quarters of the cost, and the Astor Theatre society is asked to split the remaining quarter 50-50 with the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>Several councilors questioned why an external study was needed, when the municipality is familiar with the building, however Chief Administrative Officer Chris MacNeil said they don\u2019t have the in-house expertise to decide on the best solution for the space.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Astor Theatre Society is looking to upgrade their Heating and cooling system, and has reached out to the Region of Queens to help fund a study.
